3D printed ceramic shade: light comes out between the layers and settles on the wall

Calipso comes from a single continuous bead of white clay, laid down layer by layer without moulds. The layers are offset and leave openings: light never hits the eye directly, it comes out sideways and downwards.

The body stays opaque, so the wall beside it becomes part of the lamp. Up close you can read each pass of the bead, and it changes depending on where you stand.

Every piece carries small differences, because clay moves while drying and firing. They are the mark of printing, not a flaw.
